My mini-production team “Good Luck Macbeth” was back for a second year at EIFF. This year during the 24/1 competition we were required to make a short (4-7min film) in 24 hours! The only rule was that it had to include the phrase, “The 21st annual Edmonton international film festival, and the theme had to be, the number 21. Enjoy.

Just a quick note to let you know that “My Green House” premieres next week on Wednesday October 3rd… across Canada.
It is a lifestyle reality television series that teaches families how to live in a more environmentally friendly way…
and I am one of 5 hosts! (think Home Makeover with a renovating conscience)
just know that we’re out there… trying to alter the average Canadians’ environmental impact…
and bring about big change for this earth of ours! goodness knows, Stephen Harper needs some role models to follow.
it’s up to US, people!
let’s show him the way!

Triple Threat

Being the grandson of former Eskimo great Rollie Miles doesn’t guarantee success in sports, but it certainly hasn’t hurt—especially when you are the top ranked high jumper in Canada and within striking distance of making the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Described by his wife, Shannon Tyler, as “a triple threat of the highest degree,” Read the rest of this entry »

The film Resurrecting The Champ opens tonight, Aug. 24/2007. It was brought to my attention that on pg.160 of Details magazine they had a pic of me and in the Globe & Mail. The part in the film is short, but the exposure is high. Great deal!
FYI I just started shooting the tv series called My Green House, that is set to air in Oct of this year on a few Canadian stations (CTV, Access, and maybe Global). The premise is that we go into new and old homes and discuss ways of making them “greener” very cool, and very fun.. So look out for that.
That is my entertainment update!

It has been quite a roller coaster of emotions, and struggles this year. Some of which I have shared with you, and some which i was forced to deal with alone. All and all, the year was a blessing, and a sentiment to making a choice, working hard and accomplishing what you set your heart and mind to doing.
I wanted to end up this year ranked in the top 50 in the world by IAAF ranking standards, and should be right around 51 or 52 by season end! With the Olympics next year, and two season lefts to master what we scratched the surface of this year… I am a very optimistic man. My final competition ended with a jump of 2.20m which placed me second in the last of this Grand Prix series in Gotenburg Sweden, behind Marcus Harries of the USA who also jumped 2.20m (he won on a count back).
Looking back on the year, I am amazed at what we did… Team Lipscombe… all of you who check this web page, send me good vibes, and those who have helped me out financially. I could not have done this without you, but next year… Look out! This last meet… well the last few meets..competitng with the number 2 and 3 ranked jumpers in the world (Linus T and Stephan Holm) I realized a few things…but the most important is I am as good as I want to be, and I want to be that good!
I am in Amsterdam with my wife, we just bought our first home and we are going to take it easy for about a month before it all starts up again. When I get home I will edit the video of this trip..but for those who can not wait..there are some pictures on facebook. Talk to you soon… and keep checking for updates… I have a lot of loose ends to tie up on this page! Peace! Don’t let anyone ever tell you, you cant do something… cuz thats a bold face lie! Go GET EM!

We arrived in Gotenburg Sweden yesterday after the competition in Karlstadt. Jumping with some of my high jump heroes was awesome. I had a number of problems that did not allow me to perform at the best of my abilities (flu and knee issues) but the experience was great! I have some great video of the whole experience at my first Grand Prix meet. I ended up 4th with a jump of 2.16m… Stephen Holm jumped 2.30m and 2nd and 3rd were jumps of 2.20m
Ahem… now that the excitement of my first Grand Prix is over, I can now attack my second with a different focus. This being my last compeition of the year… I dont plan to hold anything back…. A little pain is normal, and even a small injury wouldn’t hurt… lots of time to heal. So here is the plan:
1. I have learned a lot of new things about the sport this season
2. I am going to try and infuse a lot of those lessons into this compeition (it could be really bad, but it could also coe together and be great)
3. Most important…. FUN FUN FUN! Because next year is all business… sorta!
I will be home on the 5th of Aug…. with a final year update, pictures and videos!

After spending our afternoon in Stockholm, we arrived in Karlstadt… very much like Alberta, smells the same, looks the same.. with a hint more humidity. Anyway, Stephan Holm, Thornbold, Kluft (female hep) to name a few of the world class athletes here! This is my first Grand Prix meet, which I found out when I checked into the hotel… ahem… wow… So, yeah, I better pull my business together. I jump on Thursday, so today, I am just going to relax, and get my body back together… and then… yippee… off to jumping again!
