I have come to realize that the dreams of yesterday, and the hope for tomorrow, have quickly become the realties of today. The opportunities those before us demanded, are now coming into fruition.

As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “I have been to the mountain top…” - it does not matter what happens next. The movement began long ago. It was a great day when people decided that the freedoms of others could not be taken, and that the lives of others are the responsibility of us all, yes, the movement began long ago.

I am blessed to enjoy family get-togethers with my Scottish Brother in Law, Indian Sister in Law (to-be), Native Sister in Law and a German-Canadian Wife with the future of a new tolerant humanity growing in her womb.

This is a day my fore-fathers dreamed of, and the weight of the entire thing is hard for me to articulate. It is crippling and beautiful. The light is there, at the end of the tunnel… and I just want to sprint to the finish line. However, I am so happy I can watch… and hope “because there has never been anything false, about hope…. yes we can…” - Obama
