E-JOURNAL - GO FIGURE IN SPAIN
OKay, so here is my trip so far… I leave Edmonton at around 8pm, and get to sleep my way to London. I arrive at Heathrow Airport with four hours to burn. So i find myself walking around giggling at how everyone sounds so freindly with their accent
(yes, I know I have the accent, but whatever) it makes me belive that everyone is so nice…. I was wrong…lol. It is not that they are any less freindly than Canadians…but it is like a little pomeranian being mean vs. a pit bull… you expect it from the latter. Anyway, I get on my plane to Spain, and get to kick it with Billy Talent, who is playing a concert with the Chily Peppers in Bilbao. All is well so far… time to get some luggage. Yes, the same luggage I asked the Air Canada girl to put a priority sticker on to ensure that it will make it…given that it has my competition gear in it. Right, so it doesnt arrive… English is also very scarce in Spain… So I fumble through the explanation of what happened, and the lady asks for my address, and local number so they can get the bags to me (tommorrow, due to the fact that there is only one flight a day…). I tell her that I will go out and meet the man who is to pick me up, and get the details for you. Well, I look, and no man to pick me up… no luggage, and no spanish in my arsenol.
I get in contact with my agent, who sends me the details… gotta love the blackberry! and end up taxi cabbing my way into European heaven. I simply cannot be mad about my luggage when in the presence of such beauty. This city is romance… that is the only way to describe it…waking up to the smell of sweet bread, and walking down the rolling cobblestine hills… Oh yeah, I am at work. This is a work trip. Keep your fingers crossed that my bags turn up. I am glad I got my, whatever happens to Jesse thing, out of the way.

Glad you seem to enjoy this city. Hopefully, with your baggage in your hands… Mysteries of the airports.
And also a mystery is why there was one of my colleagues waiting for you at the arrivals area and you and he never met!! In such a small airport as Bilbao… My colleague tells me you never got out of the claim baggage area. Reading about your problems with your baggage, maybe there is some clue to solve that mystery.
Anyway, we’ll soon meet. Probably this afternoon. In the meantime, enjoy the promenade by the river, it’s simply great.
