E-Journal - CONCUSSION CRAZY

I am going to make this one short, because I am quite nauseous. Why you ask? Well because during my weight lifting session this afternoon I gave myself a concussion! I was performing a lift called the ’snatch’ and smashed the iron pole into my nose… was positive it was broken, but only turned out to be quite swollen. Now, I must have knocked some things around because on my next set of lifts (the jerk, these are actual names of Olympic lifts here, I am not making this stuff up) I rocked the bar under my chin, sending my world into quite a mess. So here I am fighting back the urge to Ralph on the screen. I just thought it was a funny story to share.

Oh yeah, my training partner Sheri Campbell got rear-ended on her way home from practice. We are the most accident prone athletes on the planet. Anyway, just another day in the life of team Lipscombe.

You rpoor thing!!! Feel better! Even God took a day of rest!

Hey Jesse: This was insane. TWO face-smashes in ONE day?! One face-smash is usually all an athlete needs in order to calm down and get things under control. Perhaps you took my lecture too much to heart re: “gotta get seriously back to the training routine…”; “early competitions taking too much time away from the build-up to summer…”; and so on and so forth. The good news (after watching your hill sprints, today): (a) your nose is still there! and (b) it looks like it will stay on your face no matter how jolting the training ritual. LOL [A thoughtless note from your cruel task-master!]

Awesome jump dude….is it just me or did you nick that bar? Is that the one you thought the bar would drop off? Wow, isn’t it extremely dangerous to lift with a concussion, with all that blood pumping in your body…(i mean you could get a sudden seizure/anurism)??

  4. Jesse Lipscombe Says:

no… there was no nick, charles frank or any other man near the bar… hmph…lol… thanks anyway touch DIC.
