News - Mt. Sac Results
The competition at 11:30am (university/open div.) was a real mess. My starting point landed directly on the division between the track and the infield, causing quite a dilemma. My smooth approach was thrown in the trash, and we (Linda and I) were forced to be creative and jump. With a messy approach, I managed to jump 2.21, and equal the Alberta Provincial Record. With the win, they invited me into the Invitational Division three hours later….
Now jumping twice in one day is normally a crazy thought, but we thought it may be a good idea given it is our first comp. of the season, and we traveled far… may as well get your money worth, right?
Now, this competition had the cream of the crop, a great comp., several Olympians, NCAA national champions, foreign national champs, etc. Basically the people I need to be competing with in order to do well in the international field.
I jumped 2.21m again, narrowly missing 2.24m and placing fifth. All and all a great start to the season! Stay tuned for clips from the event!

Congrats Jesse! That is so awesome!! I never realized how much mental focus was needed to be the key to achieving goals. Bowling was great for that cause it taught me that if you don’t believe in yourself and set goals then you make things tougher on yourself. But to bring it on in LA and show everybody how talented you are that’s determination right there! So awesome, im really honoured to have you as my trainer and thats from the heart! Keep chugging away and you’ll get there coach!
P.S. Hi momma Monica…isnt it such a lovely name? hehe

Wow! Congrats Jessie. With jumps like that you’d probably clear our whole hockey team in a single leap! Looking forward to seeing you this weekend for dryland. See you soon and watch out for traffic on the way to the rink.
